The Brisbane Cruise Terminal (BCT) Relocation Project is part of the larger Portside East development currently under construction and the upcoming Building 7 reconfiguration. The relocation of the terminal presents an opportunity to enhance the passenger and visitor experience by creating better connectivity and integration between the Brisbane Cruise Terminal, the Portside Wharf Retail Centre and the Portside precinct as a whole.
The design of the new terminal streamlines the user experience, making checkin as intuitive and easy as possible, following a natural progression of touchpoints, and equally so the process of disembarkation. Embracing the ports unique location and Queensland aesthetic, the material palette draws on an industrial yet sophisticated style to welcome passengers into the space. With large expanses of glass, polished concrete, timber accents and an exposed ceiling the space is minimalistic and contemporary in its presentation.
