Strategy

We usually start a project with an idea of what it is that we wish to achieve, build or create.  We have an idea of what the future end state is and why we started the project in the first place.

But how often do we get part way through our project, become disillusioned, frustrated or bored with it and its abandoned, left with the pile of other half completed projects?

Projects fail, when we fail to create a clear picture of what success looks like.

If you knew that a decision you were making for your business could constrain its future potential, would you do it?

Surprisingly business leaders make these decisions unknowingly every day.  This decision impacts your two most expensive business assets; property & people.

Over the last six months, I've been gathering insights into my own unique personality and personal values, the things that light my fire and drag me down.  One of the most recent "Aha!" moments for me, involved looking at my personal values and our Organisational Values and then digging a bit deeper in order to understand the 'behaviours' of these values.
Materials make up the majority of the built industry but are often one of the least understood elements.

There is exciting potential for designers to resurrect long-forgotten building methods and materials and pair them with innovative, modern technology.

We also see the ability to shake off existing connotations associated with materials and what they can do.

Balance is a situation in which different things exist in mutually beneficial parts. If you look at how optimal outcomes are achieved in various situations it’s through balance. A thriving ecosystem, a myriad of ingredients coming together to create an amazing meal, the highest performing, leading football team… They’re all a balance of different parts coming together to contribute to a greater, impressive outcome.

How often have you been somewhere and instantly felt good about being there?  Somewhere you remember with a fondness that takes you back there?  Is there a particular coffee shop that you’re drawn too? Is it the smell of the brewing coffee, the friendly smile that welcomes you and asks “the usual?”, the gentle hum of the surrounding conversations, ambient lighting and interior detailing?

Get a Test Fit

Preparing test fits on your shortlisted tenancy options gives you a multitude of benefits before making a critical decision in your property acquisition process.  It provides you with the opportunity to visualise how your requirements fit into each unique building footprint and to sanity check your requirements, before you sign that lease; do we really need 6 meeting rooms?

Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 FINALIST  |  Telstra Business Women’s Awards

Friday night was a celebration of Queensland’s leading Business Women, and I was incredibly honoured to be standing amongst them.  I never believed that this was a possibility, and after hearing from the awards organisers that they had received a record number of applications for the Entrepreneur category, I was even more amazed that I had made it to the final 3 selected for Queensland.

What do Barrack Obama, Charles Darwin & Warren Buffett have in common? They each are strong advocates of diversity of thinking to achieve the best outcome.

The notion that the best ideas are ones generated collectively as a team, was a hot topic at this year’s Worktech event in Sydney. Specifically, the discussions centred around how this way of thinking could be applied within the workplace to enhance a business’s operations, increase staff engagement and revolutionise the company’s culture and brand.
